By car

The campus of the technical university Dortmund is located near the Dortmund West motorway junction, where the A45 Sauerland line crosses the B1/A40 Ruhr expressway. The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.

By bus and train

The "Dortmund Universität" S-Bahn station is located directly on the North Campus. From there, the S-Bahn line S1 runs every 20 or 30 minutes to Dortmund main station and in the opposite direction to Düsseldorf main station via Bochum, Essen and Duisburg. The university can also be reached by bus lines 445, 447 and 462. Timetable information can be found on the homepage of the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Association, and DSW21 also offer an interactive route network map.

By H-Bahn

The H-Bahn is one of the landmarks of the TU Dortmund. Line 1 runs every 10 minutes between Dortmund Eichlinghofen and the Technology Centre via Campus South and Dortmund University S, while Line 2 commutes every 5 minutes between Campus North and Campus South. It covers this distance in two minutes.

By flight

From Dortmund Airport, it takes just over 20 minutes to get to Dortmund Central Station with the AirportExpress and from there to the university with the S-Bahn. Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometres away, offers a wider range of international flight connections and can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university station.

From 27-29 October 2017, the Department of Music and Movement in Rehabilitation and Disability Education, together with the Society for Dance Research gtf, hosted the conference "Dance-Diversity-Inclusion" at TU Dortmund University. In numerous lectures and lecture demonstrations, scientific and artistic researchers presented their research projects on the topic of dance, diversity and inclusion. In dance workshops, participants were able to get to know and practically experience very different artistic and pedagogical approaches to inclusive dance work. The conference proceedings of the same name, published by Susanne Quinten and Christiana Rosenberg in the series TanzForschung (edited by the Gesellschaft für Tanzforschung) at transcript Verlag, are available online in open access.
