Movement Ambulatorium
The Movement Ambulatorium is part of the "Centre for Counselling and Therapy" of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences at the Technical University of Dortmund. It offers counselling and support to children and adolescents in need of support in the areas of motor skills, social behaviour, emotion and communication. At the same time, this opens up research, observation and internship opportunities for students.
In close cooperation with the facilities of the Centre for Counselling and Therapy of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences, 50 children a week are regularly supported in the movement ambulatorium. These are recommended by the neuro-paediatric department or paediatricians, nursery school teachers and teachers. A separate therapy room with observation facilities is available in the sports building.
The management team consists of Prof. Dr. Susanne Quinten and Prof. Dr. Stefanie Kuhlenkamp. Prof. Dr. Stefanie Kuhlenkamp is responsible for the coordination of the movement ambulatorium. Location & approach
The campus of the technical university Dortmund is located near the Dortmund West motorway junction, where the A45 Sauerland line crosses the B1/A40 Ruhr expressway. The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.
The "Dortmund Universität" S-Bahn station is located directly on the North Campus. From there, the S-Bahn line S1 runs every 20 or 30 minutes to Dortmund main station and in the opposite direction to Düsseldorf main station via Bochum, Essen and Duisburg. The university can also be reached by bus lines 445, 447 and 462. Timetable information can be found on the homepage of the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Association, and DSW21 also offer an interactive route network map.
The H-Bahn is one of the landmarks of the TU Dortmund. Line 1 runs every 10 minutes between Dortmund Eichlinghofen and the Technology Centre via Campus South and Dortmund University S, while Line 2 commutes every 5 minutes between Campus North and Campus South. It covers this distance in two minutes.
From Dortmund Airport, it takes just over 20 minutes to get to Dortmund Central Station with the AirportExpress and from there to the university with the S-Bahn. Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometres away, offers a wider range of international flight connections and can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university station.
